Special Projects - Martin-Senour Truck
The special graphics on this truck were done for the
NAPA All Texas Marketing Conference in December 1998. The truck was used as a
display to showcase Martin-Senour's
new paint line called MultiTones. Martin-Senour paint is the NAPA private label
produced by Sherwin-Williams. The
paint comes in a variety of "Factory Packs" with different variations. The
factory pack color for this color is Cyan/Purple. The MultiTones paint is designed
to show a different shade of color based on the angle being viewed and the lighting
conditions. Just click on any of the images for a larger view.
The driver's side graphics have been
laid out and the truck masked.
The tricky part is to get the graphics the same on both
sides. Many hours went into the final layout and checking the equality of
measurements from side to side.
The MultiTone paint has been applied and the clearcoat has
been applied over it.
From this angle the color looks completely different from the
front view.
These outdoor shots in bright sunlight really show the
different colors of the Cyan/Purple MultiTone color. From the front it looks like a
copper color.
From the side you can see the color transition from copper to purple.
From the rear the color transitions from purple to blue.
